Welcome to Lutterworth & District Museum.
We are an independent museum, staffed & run entirely by volunteers.
The museum’s aim is to collect and preserve the documents & artefacts which chart the history of Lutterworth & its surrounding network of villages from earliest times to the present day.

Lutterworth Museum joins
Ian Whittle
on his presentation day
The Museum attended Sir Frank Whittle’s son, Ian Whittle on
his presentation day
Brownsover Hall
Just a few days before his 84th birthday, Ian Whittle gave a highly informative and very entertaining presentation on his father’s life and of his own subsequent career in aviation – that obviously resulted from the environment in which he had grown up.
Ian gave a talk about the work of his father, this was supported by items from Lutterworth Museum and an original film of Power Jets.
The audience were very impressed with Ian’s talk and the support of Lutterworth Museum. ALL guests went away with a museum brochure.
The museum will receive a donation. The Museum will continue to support Ian when needed and still give our own Whittle talks when asked.
Ian was so impressed with what Lutterworth Museum are doing, and is more than happy we continue showing the work of his father.
If you would like to see Sir Frank Whittle items on display please visit the Museum in Lutterworth.
