Lutterworth & District Museum are now an Accredited Museum



We are one out of only 51 Independent Museums in the East Midlands, who have achieved FULL Accreditation. Fantastic!

This is the first accreditation that the Arts Council England accrediting body has given Lutterworth & District Museum. By pursuing and achieving accreditation Lutterworth & District Museum has demonstrated that it meets standard for quality and is committed to pursuing excellence.


The accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be given to a Museum and shows the organisation substantial conformance to the Arts Council England standards.  The Museum receiving a Three-Year Term of accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process. It demonstrated to the accreditation assessors during the on-site visit commitment to offer programs and services that a measurable, accountable and of the highest quality.


Lutterworth & District Museum is a non-profitable – Registered Charity ( No. 1008383) has been providing services in Lutterworth Town and district since the group started in 1989.


Arts Council England believe that great art and culture inspires us, brings together and teaches us about ourselves and the world around us. In short it makes life better.


I would like to thank everyone past & present who has been involved in the Museum.

Lutterworth Museum & Historical Society set themselves up in 1989. On 25th May 1991 The Museum first opened their

doors to the members of the public.
